Section Divine
- and the harmonious brain
"Section Divine" or the "Divine Proportion" has been a part of the universe since the "big bang" and the most recent theory from 2003 describes the universe as a dodecahedron, build on the "section divine" ratio. We also find it everywhere in the nature, in the human body, in art and architecture and in every day objects like credit cards, books, flags etc.
In all these areas the proportion stands for harmony, balance and beauty (external and internal). However, what has not been known until now is that human functions and body processes can be described in "section divine terms" when we are in a state of balance and harmony.
Together with a Russian research team I have showed that the brain activity, measured with EEG, change in a qualitative different way when we are in a self-hypnotic state, called “the inner mental room". The brain starts to work as a holistic unit, where the ratio between delta, theta, alfa, beta1 and beta 2 waves change to a "section divine ratio" (the harmonious brain).
Another example is that the heart variability changes to the same "divine ratio" in this mental room state. This has led to an attempt to construct “Section Divine Music”, which can be used to induce states of relaxation, calmness, balance and harmony.
This CD contains the first compositions based on the "Section Divine" and the "Fibonacci numbers". Preliminary investigations of this music indicate that it produces states of inner beauty and harmony.
After extensive work of analysis, mathematical calculations and musical creativity, the CD now is finished. In this album Section Divine and the Fibonacci numbers are represented in tempo, form (even subdivisions), rhythm, melody and chords, to various degrees. One piece of the music is shaped totally (the melody and chords) around only five notes, all taken from the Fibonacci numbers.
A very interesting incident happened the first time a composition from this CD was played on the radio. An elderly woman phoned the radiostation and told them that she had heard the music 60 years ago in relation to a “near death experience". Since that experience she has been listening to all kinds of music in order to find the music she heard again and now after 60 years…
